First Winter Storm

I'm one of those "weird" people - the one that actually likes the snow. I'm just not a big fan of the cold! We had our first snow "storm" of the season. I think we ended up getting 2 or 3 inches. That is a long way from an actual storm here in Upstate NY but the kids were excited about it anyway. The only problem is that I can't seem to find their snowpants or winter jackets. We have only been in this house since August. And I am still having problem remembering where exactly I have put things away. I remember sorting through piles and piles of snowpants and jackets. I made 3 piles: 1 for items that should still fit, 1 for items to get rid of and 1 for items to set aside for when Brooklinn gets bigger. I can't seem to find the items that should fit. My kids are so mad at me right now because they really want to go out and play - I let them anyway! Afterall, it isn't their fault their Mom is losing her mind. Where can they be??!! The hunt continues.....hopefully I will find them before the next storm!

Little Looster Review/Giveaway

In the beginning of the summer I was contacted by Monica the CEO - Mom-trepreneur of the Little Looster. She thought I would be interested in doing a review/giveaway of the Little Looster - the Looster Booster and she was certain that my kids (and my friends kids) would appreciate it. And she was right. I love it and so do the kids. It is lightweight which makes it easier for the kids to maneuver by themselves - which really gives them the sense of independence they are always looking for not to mention they aren't always having to wait on me to help them so it eliminates accidents when they really have to "go". I have been very happy with this product and I'm certain you will be too. Be sure to check out the website: www.littlelooster.com for additional information.

What exactly is a Little Looster?

Fresh on the market, Little Looster™ is a revolutionary, uniquely-designed potty training accessory that provides the perfect support for little legs and fits discreetly around the base of your Loo. All grown-ups can use the toilet while standing or sitting without needing to move it out of the way. With the Little Looster, parents and caregivers no longer have to clean out those tiny potty chairs or fuss with a step stool that inevitably clutters the bathroom. Toddlers can train to tinkle in the toilet independently and successfully right on the “big potty.”  The benefits of training with Little Looster do not stop there! Using the Little Looster saves both time and money, as parents are potty-training their little ones on average 2 months earlier. That is approximately $175/per child in savings and over 425 diapers that are no longer filling the landfills. (this information was taken from www.littlelooster.com)

Carmex Review/Giveaway

You may remember my excitement when I was accepted to be a member of the Carmex Blog Squad. Well, I was recently sent an amazing package from Carmex. This package included:
  • 1 Carmex Lime Twist twist stick
  • 1 Carmex Vanilla twist stick
  • 1 Picnic blanket
  • 1 Carmex Moisture Plus® clear satin gloss finish
It couldn't have arrived at a more perfect time! We were just getting ready to leave for vacation. I threw the Lime Twist and Vanilla twist stick in my purse and added the picnic blanket to the picnic basket.
I  love the twist sticks. The new Carmex Lime Twist Click Stick will keep your lips smooth and  moisturized while providing the fragrant scent of lime.  The vanilla is precisely what you would expect; a deep, rich and delicious vanilla flavor. The twist sticks have SPF 15 to protect your lips from the sun. The twist sticks are moisturizing and were great after a day at the beach! Carmex is one of my favorite products for quality lip products.  The formula is rich and creamy and provides great relief for your dried and chapped lips. These new flavors are ultra moisturizing and is a great addition to the must have items for your handbag. .

I reserve the Moisture Plus clear satin gloss finish for that occasional night out! Works great and looks awesome too!!!

I also received a really cool bonus: the picnic blanket. This picnic blanket is really unique and pretty innovative. It rolls up into an easy to carry package. When you unroll it, it is bigger than you would expect. It has two sides: one comfy side to sit on and one side that is meant to touch the ground. The under side is a material that is easy to wipe off and clean. The picnic blanket also has a pocket for keeping change, carmex and other goodies in while you picnic. It is definitely my new favorite picnic/ concert/ outdoor event blanket.

My kids were also HUGE fans of the products. They can't get enough!

As a member of the Carmex Blog Squad I was given these products to try by Carmex. The comments/ideas and opinions are my own unbiased thoughts. That being said: HOW ABOUT A GIVEAWAY??!!

My friends at Carmex want to give you the items mentioned above!!

    WOW...lets play catch-up

Has it really been almost 3 months since my last post??!! I'm still alive I promise :)

We are in our new house - (YAY)!!!! And we absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it! We are almost settled in. All of the chickens are here and are getting adjusted to their new homes! The goats finally came home yesterday and they are starting to check things out!

What's that?? You didn't know we had goats?? We bought 2 baby pygmy goats just before we moved out of our house. They have been staying at a friends house until we could get things ready for them here. They are the cutest things in the world :)

The kids started school last week - kinda..... (I will explain more in my next post)

    Things are crazy....

I feel like I have been neglecting my blog lately. And I guess I have been!!!! Just a quick update:

    1) We haven't moved yet. But things are starting to fall into place and hopefully we will be closing on both houses and we will start moving  before the end of the month!! I'm really anxious to get in there and get settled. I feel like most of my life has been packed up in boxes for months....oh wait IT HAS!!!!!! We drive by the house quite frequently just to see if we see anything new. On one such trip we saw a BEAR!!!! So I will be busy teaching my kids what to do in case they come face-to-face with one!! I have had some nice chats with the neighbors...they have informed me that there is also two "cute little bobcats" running around over there and quite a few coyotes as well. Other than that, it is just as peaceful as always.

    2) Raileigh is graduating from High School in ONE WEEK!!!! So I have been busy writing and sending out invites for the party. Making out menus and shopping too!!! We have quite a bit of family staying at our house (where ever that may be) so I have been moving things around to accommodate them! I can't believe that Raileigh is already old enough to be graduating from High School!!!! She has decided to go active duty in the US ARMY. She will be leaving for training on October 31st at Ft. Jackson South Carolina.

    3) Mathew and his fiance (Cassie) are expecting a BABY!!! So I guess that will make me a Grandma...LOL!!! I'm not ready for that term yet! I was freaking out about turning 35 this summer but I guess that is nothing compared to this :)

    4) I bought 6 new baby chicks and 2 new baby guinea keets! So that brings the grand-total "bird" count to 20!!!! I have put a "egg shed" out by the road to sell eggs out of. It is working really well...so well in fact, I started buying white eggs from a friend of mine and putting them out there too. I run the shed completely on the honor system and I am happy to report that everyone has been honest so far!!!!
